Heat builds up in Northern India as first Heatwave of the season arrives!
Pre-monsoon rains have been missing in the northern plains since a very long time and weak WD's have also failed to bring any significant rains in the plains due to which the region is reporting a large rainfall deficit in the spring rainfall however the first heatwave of the season has not been observed in the region but temperature have touched the 40°C on some occasions. Now, the first heatwave of the season has started to settle in the plains of North India.
The dry and hot weather was beating hard in East India from a long time. The dynamics have turned favorable for on/off Nor'westers (Kal'baisakhi) spells as LWD, High moisture, Heat, enhanced lifting in the lower atmosphere will allow back to back t-storm almost on every evening for a 7-10 days
The first heatwave of the north will last for a short duration with a surprise of cooling and rains by the weekend, lets dive deep into the which all places will heat up and which will cool down.

Weather Events and Forecast
• A gradual rise over the span of two days is expected across Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and adjoining Central India and Gujarat
• Intense Heat will build up in parts of NW & W Rajasthan and parts of North Madhya Pradesh and parts of urban centers
• Peak of this heat will be between 6-10th May
• Moist wind, high heat will fuel some instability which will later fuel isolated localized storms in some parts of the foothills of Uttarpradesh, Punjab, NE Aravalli and parts of Rajasthan

• Chandigarh, Foothills, East Punjab, Foothills of UttarPradesh: 36-41°C
• Plains of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and UttarPradesh: 40-46°C
• Parts of Gujarat, Core Rajasthan, Maharashtra: 41-46°C
• NW & W Rajasthan and parts of N Madhya Pradesh: 43-48°C
• Rest of the plains: 42-46°C
