Slight relief expected from heatwave as a WD is set to affect North India (2-5th May)



As we all know March was warmest month on record and same goes for April. Heatwaves, Loo, extreme temperatures were recorded with a lot of people and animals having troubles. Now a relief is expected from the heat

 Slight relief from heatwave is anticipated in 50-80% areas of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Foothills and some adjoining areas as a lowkey Moderate WD is set to affect these places from today with infusion of moist easterlies but the apparent temperature or feels like temperature is expected to be more. if air temperature is 38°C with 32% humidity then the feels like temp will be around 40°C 

 Winds are easterlies but they will act as an supportive system for the growth of thunderclouds and development of these thunder clouds are highly localized. we can predict the areas they might form in but not their precise location.

A weakly moderate western disturbance (late 2nd May-5th May)

Strong surface SouthWesterlies in parts of Rajasthan and adj places

Weather Forecast & Events

Scattered thunderclouds are expected to develop in 20-40% areas of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab & West Uttarpradesh. They will be very scattered with short spells of light-Moderate rains area expected in 20-38% of the areas and duststorm activities are expected in 30-50% of the areas.

Dust raising winds gusting upto (25-40km/h) areas expected to blow across the Rajasthan. These winds can raise dust/sand into the atmosphere which will then travel towards NorthEast, Delhi, south Haryana and parts of Madhyapradesh till 4th May

This spell is going to be a better one for the Hills and Foothills. Parts of Jammu, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and some adjoining parts of foothills of Punjab, Uttarpradesh are set to receive Light-Moderate rains with isol bursts of intense rain or hailstorm with winds gusting upto 20-40km/h winds 

Heatwave conditions are expected to prevail in Central India, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and parts of Chhattisgarh, East Rajasthan and SW Uttarpradesh with temperature in range of 40-44°C.

One or two spells of Nor 'wester or Kalbaishakahi  are expected in Kolkata, parts of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and adj areas on the evening of 3th, 4th and 5th May

Daily Weather Outlook & Pattern

Day will remain humid and hot for majority of the northern plains with above 40°C in isolated pockets with development of  isolated popups in late afternoon into evening. Nights will be pleasant and humid.

Parts of bordering Rajasthan, SW Punjab, W Haryana, Aravalli area could receive isolated short spell of light rain followed by dust storm acts on 3rd May by Evening

Parts of Delhi, Haryana, W U.P, Punjab and Aravalli region of Rajasthan could receive light-Mod rains followed by dust storm acts by the evening of 4th May
