Slight relief from ongoing severe heatwave is expected as a weak WD is set affect the parts of North India from today but heat will continue to roast people, only some luck areas to receive isolated light-mod rains along with duststorm.

Heatwave will continue across Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarpradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and the Parts of Foothills.
Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, W-C Uttar Pradesh to remain in 42-47°C zone whereas night temp across these places will remain in 27-31°C range also clouding might drop the temperature further by 1-3°C
Parts of Punjab, N Haryana, Foothills, Chandigarh, Panchkula and adj places to remain in 40-44°C range where night temps will remain in range of 25-29°C
Temperature will remain elevated in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and parts of Maharashtra. Range 40-45°C/ Night 25-29°C
As Moisture laden Easterlies are blowing over the parts of Northern India, Combined with heat will raise the apparent temperature (feels like temperature)

May 16th: Likely to remain hot and dry with partly cloudy sky, slight chances of duststorm by evening and isolated rains in parts of Aravalli, NE Rajasthan, S Haryana, Punjab, Delhi & Ncr. (2-15% of the areas to be overaged)
Parts of Jammu, Srinagar, Gulabgarh, N Kishtwar and adj areas, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarkashi, Kedarnath, Gangotri and adj aras might see some passing light-mod showers with warm day (20-50% areas to be covered)
May 17th: Mostly hot and humid with chances of duststorm and isolated rains in parts of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, NE Rajasthan, Aravalli and adj areas. Some places might see widespread dust in the atmosphere for few days. (5-30% of the areas to be covered)

May 18th: There will be slight increase in the spread and intensity of the rainfall activities but heat combined with moisture will make the conditions uncomfortable. Isolated light rain or drizzle is expected in parts of Delhi, Ncr, Haryana, West Uttarpradesh, Punjab and some areas might get some moderate spells followed by gusty winds and very isolated hailstorm, mostly in foothills and hills. (10-35% of the areas to be covered)
May 19th: There will be a reduction in overall rainfall and cloud formation activities and heat will return but only for a short while as another system approaches the hills by 20th May
