Another Rainy Weekend for North India (21-24th Jan)

Some parts of Northern plains would get light rain/drizzle Underinfluence of a weak wd b/w 18-20th jan

Plains of North West India to Receive Light to Moderate rains with isolated Moderate spells/T-Storms and few areas to get hailstorm 

Both Min and Max Temp Will rise between 18-23 Jan due to Clouding and Warm winds from Arabian sea across Northern plains (short lived relief)

Fog cover would expand bit in Rajasthan, East Up,and Some adj areas of Madhyapradesh till 21st as the wd system start the to affect northern plains fog cover will get reduce due to unstable atmosphere (Strong surface & Upper level winds) 

Some places might observe Surface fog due to clam winds and strong surface winds but there will be a reduction in fog cover b/w 21 & 23rd

After the wet spell Fog will again expand and Cold winds from Northwest will start affecting Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhyapradesh, UttarPradesh, W U.P, Parts of Maharashtra dropping both min/max temp by couple of degrees (2-4°C in Central India & 5-8°C in North)

Hills would get light to moderate snowfall with isol mod Snowfall and rain mix. Mostly in Leh, Ladakh, Jammu, Kashmir, Himachalpradesh and some parts of Uttarakhand

A Moderately active WD and its induce Cyclonic Circulation would affect NW India from 21st Jan. 

This wd is little weak from 7th jan one so there will be less hailstorm activity, weak t-storms with only light intensity lightning and thunder at some places, intensity of the rain would be moderate but the accumulation would be less as Strong Rainfall would be in short burst (10-20mins lived) Mostly in Punjab, Rajasthan and parts of Haryana & Delhi

21st Jan

Light to moderate rainfall with isol thunder & One or two Isolated short burst of intense spell would start in parts of North Rajasthan & Punjab such as Bikaner, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Sikar, Nohar, Bhadara, Bhatinda, Mansa, Muktsar, Jalalabad. Thunder clouds will form in these region by late afternoon or evening and will move NorthEast & precipitating in parts of Punjab, N Rajasthan, N Haryana 

22nd Jan

As the systems move forward. drizzle/Light rain along with isolated Moderate Showers are expected in parts of Haryana, Sirsa, hisar, Jind, Bhiwani, Rohtak, Alwar, Narual, Loharu, Alwar, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Noida, Panipat, Baghpat, parts of North Madhyapradesh, West UttarPradesh and Central UttarPradesh by 23rd jan.

•Acts would start by early mrng

•Accumulation would be between 1-10 mm in Delhi, Haryana, W Up, Rajasthan 

•Places in Punjab, extreme W UP and Foothills of punjab & UttarPradesh are likely to get 20-35mm of Rain

•Isolated places may get above 35mm 

•Hills will get Rain/Snow mix

23rd and 24th Jan

Moderate snowfall with isol Heavy Rainfall in Uttarakhand, Kashmir, HimachalPradesh

Post wet spell

As this system moves aways Flow of Cold NorthWesterlies from Snow Cald mountain would resume over the plains result in Drop of Temp

This cold spell will last till end of January

Another wd is expected after 31st Jan

Update2: 22nd January 

North India: Light Rain with isolated Moderate spells will continue till tmrw Morning in Delhi, Rajasthan, North Madhyapradesh, UttarPradesh, Punjab

•Some areas in Punjab, NorthWest Haryana,  Central Madhyapradesh might observe Moderate spells along with hailstorm 

•Weather will start clearing from Punjab, NW Rajasthan by 3-4am on 23rd January as the system moves away Flow of cold Moderate to strong NorthWesterlies will resume in North India leading Temperature drop in both min/max across all stations 

•Another spell of light to mod rains is expected later this evening across Delhi, Haryana, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and adj areas

DUST AND HIGH AQI 

•Strong winds blowing across Dry sandy regions of Middle East has picked up Dust. A dust plume can be seen over Gujarat, Parts of Rajasthan. Soon this dust will move into more areas of Rajasthan, Gujarat, North Konkan, Mumbai, Madhyapradesh and some parts of south Delhi, south Haryana region. These places will observe dusty hazy skies. Gusty winds are expected mostly in Gujarat and adj region

Places in North India may observe very thin layer of Dust as the plume in the north is not dense as the one in West & Central India.

This dust will travel through Gujarat, Mumbai, Maharashtra, parts of Madhyapradesh between 23rd Jan into evening/Night of 24th January.

Then into Hyderabad, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, and adjoining area between 24th into 25th Jan

Mumbai: Scattered light to Moderate Showes are expected till tomorrow afternoon. Some places may see short burst of Rain.

A good temperature drop is also expected across all stations of Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Palgarh and ghats

MINIMUM Temp might drop to 14-15°C. Majority to see 14°C-17°C range

Max temp will also observe drop of couple of degrees. This will be colde than usual for Mumbai climate
