           Cyclone Tauktae likely to intensify further into Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (VSCS)

Currently at 11:00amIST Tauktae is a very severe cyclonic storm likely, sea surface temperature is 31 degree conditions looks favorable for further intensification of the storm, after intensifying little is is going to maintain its strength until landfall 

 Tauktae is 100km of goa. it is expected to move on its Northern trajectory. we expect landfall near DIU, landfall location may change slightly 

I expect this system attain somewhat close strength  of a cat-II hurricane while it is over open waters of Arabian sea.

COASTALAREAS: Coastal karnataka, Coastal Maharastra, goa, mumbai, , karwar, raigarh, ratnagiri, and adjoining areas are lilkely to get Moderate to heavy rain with strong gusty winds (50kmph-70kmph) . some palaces may get extremely heavy rain with damaging winds during next 24hrs

CODE RED : Cyclone is just passing parallel to MUMBAI, GOA, RATNAGIRI, AND OTHER COASTAL PARTS OF MAHARASTRA AND GUJARAT, wind speed will be very high with heavy rain. visibility will be low. people should not go out as lose articles may fly. there are high chances of uprooting of trees, electric poles, banners.

  

GUJARAT: landfall is expected near dui region as of now. Gujarat will receive heavy to very heavy rain with damaging winds. good level damage is expected.  

KERALA: now rainfall nd thundershower activity will start decreasing as cyclone has moved away from the region

NORTH INDIA: we expect light to moderate rain with thundershower over Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi around 18th may to 21st may. system will move over norther plains as a low pressure area..... more information will be available in 1 or 2 days


NOTE: CYCLONE TRACK MAY CHANGE SLIGHTLY BEFORE LANDFALL TRACK WILL BECOME MORE PRECISE WITH TIME

Monsoon 2024 sends a surprise towards Northern India

 The Northern Plains of India have seen various colours of Monsoons 2024. The season started with a fierce thunderstorm which dumped 228mm of Rains within a short time frame of just 6 hours at Safdarjung observatory in Delhi.   The SouthWest Monsoon season has remained active for most of the observed duration in this season with only one prolong monsoon break during Early-Mid August. The pan India rainfall currently stands at an excess of  650.3mm against the normal of 635.4mm. We are nearly more than half way into this 4 month long season and we are heading towards a major wet spell in NW and NC India which will start by late afternoon of 23rd August and will continue for next 4 to 6 days.
